It is our passion to remain mission-minded at Heritage Baptist Church. We strive to provide opportunities for everyone in our church to participate in missions. We offer hands-on activities, collections of supplies and offerings for special projects locally and internationally.

Current Mission Projects

HBC and Boy Scout Troop 517 recently collected 620 non-perishable food items for our local food pantry, Tri-Area Ministries. Our goal was 517 and we exceeded that goal!
We strive to have on-going mission projects as well as monthly or quarterly mission activities. Some of our on-going projects include:

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House: Collect can pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House, which provide housing and support for families during long-term hospitalization of a loved one. One million recycled pop tabs, will provide a nights lodging for 25 families at The Ronald McDonald House.

Interact Cell Phone Ministry: Recycle old cell phones to be made available to clients of Interact of Wake County, which provides support to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.

Other mission projects have included:

Heart 2 Heart: We have collected school supplies for students in a local inner-city school as well as volunteered to tutor.

Tri-Area Ministries: Upon request, we collect food for our local food bank.

CROP Walk: In October join us for our community CROP Walk when we walk to raise funds to alleviate hunger in our community and in our world.

Mission Trips: We take groups to Grifton, NC to work with Grifton Mission Ministries building and repairing homes in Eastern NC.

Belize: One of our church members went on several mission trips to Belize with Meredith College. We have helped collect school supplies and money to build a play area for an elementary school there.

Collections: We have collected clothing for boys at Cameron Boys Camp, money to purchase Bibles in Nicaragua, helped build a driveway for a school in Haiti, collected clothing for orphans, basic needs for people after a local tornado and supplies for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.
